Pumpkin painting fun!

The week before Halloween my office had a pumpkin decorating competition. I asked Janice if she and the boys would like to paint a pumpkin. They were more than up to the challenge. Can you guess what they are making? Stay tuned!

Pumpkin painting is excruciatingly hard work.

Joelle wanted to be the model so she posed as a pumpkin. The costume is a loaner that is a bit on the small side but Joelle has the ability to make anything look cute.

A little catch up....

We have had a really busy last few weeks which has taken it's toll on the blog. So now it's time to play catch up!

Janice, Sylvie and all their kids went to a pumpkin patch the week before Halloween. It was a great trip. It was at Berry Patch Farms where they have a petting zoo, pumpkin patch and a hay ride. The kids had a blast.

When given the opportunity a pumpkin can roll a long way (especially down a hill).

Joelle and William discussing the pros and cons of using a stick to find the perfect pumpkin.

Pumpkin patch kid?

This would be the Texas version of the princess and the pea.

Two lovely ladies!

Enjoy!

Watching the boys play.

Watching a passing formation of squawking geese.

Cannot keep her eyes off her brothers playing!

A moment of deep reflection.
thought: "Are all boys that weird?"

All done with pictures!!!!

Raising rocket scientists...

It turns out that building rockets is not nearly as hard as you would think and is much more entertaining than you might be aware. Janice has a cook book circa 1986 called "Healthy Foods for Hungry Kids" and it has the recipe for building a rocket. Nathaniel built his rocket by the book mimicking exactly what he saw (Janice drew the stars). He pulled the whole thing together in a matter of minutes. Ben on the other hand slowly and meticulously engineered his vessel. Unfortunately he ate the fuselage and the rocket boosters which delayed take off considerably. The final launch went very well and left everyone happily covered in chocolate chips and cottage cheese.
